How to Create and Use 360 Degree Assessments in Evalinator

If you’re a coach, consultant, or service professional, you already know how powerful your self-assessments can be for helping clients discover insights and take action.

But sometimes, the most meaningful growth happens when clients also hear from others — peers, managers, or team members. That’s where 360-degree assessments come in.

With Evalinator, you can now easily turn any regular assessment into a 360-degree feedback tool. It’s a natural extension of your self-assessments — and an incredible way to add value for your paying clients.

Why 360-Degree Assessments Matter

A 360-degree assessment gives your clients a rounded view of how they’re perceived — not just how they see themselves.

Whether you’re a life coach using a “Wheel of Life,” a leadership consultant evaluating communication and influence, or a business advisor tracking team dynamics, 360s open the door to:

  • Deeper awareness: Clients get input from multiple perspectives.
  • Better conversations: Structured, evidence-based coaching discussions.
  • Higher client retention: A more professional, results-driven service keeps clients coming back.

Step 1: Create a 360 Degree Group

The first step is to create a 360-degree group for a client. This group represents the people who will provide feedback on your client’s performance, skills, or behaviors.

  1. Navigate to the Users and Respondents in Evalinator.

  2. Click on any of your clients in the “Default” group, and select Create 360 Group

  3. Add the client’s respondents. Typically, your client provides a list of people—team members, peers, or other stakeholders.

Tip: Make sure to clarify with your client who should be included in the 360 assessment to ensure meaningful feedback.

Step 2: Choose or Create an Assessment

Next, you’ll select the assessment that will be used to collect feedback. You have two options:

  • Use an existing assessment: If you already have a well-structured assessment such as a Wheel of Life or a Leadership Assessment, you can reuse it for 360-degree feedback.

  • Create a new assessment: Tailor questions specifically for feedback gathering. For example, include scored questions for evaluation and text input questions for unstructured feedback.

Best Practice Tip: Always include text input questions. These open-ended responses provide rich, qualitative insights that can be invaluable to your client.

Step 3: Share the Assessment Link

Once your 360-degree group and assessment are ready, it’s time to collect feedback.

  1. Copy the assessment link

  2. Provide the link to your client so they can distribute it to respondents, or send it on their behalf.

  3. Currently, sending emails to respondents is done outside the platform, but we plan to add integrated emailing soon.

Tip: Encourage respondents to provide honest and detailed feedback to maximize the value of the assessment.

Step 4: Monitor Responses

As responses start coming in, you can track both quantitative scores and qualitative text responses:

  • Score Analysis: See aggregated scores to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

  • Text Feedback: Read personalized responses from each respondent to gain context and deeper insights.

Evalinator allows you to view aggregated results and see all the individual text responses (unstructured feedback provided) too. This gives you the flexibility to focus on patterns or individual feedback.

Step 5: Review and Guide Your Client

With the results in hand, you can now provide value to your client:

  1. Discuss the results with your client, highlighting key insights and trends.

  2. Use text feedback to guide actionable recommendations.

  3. Collaborate on goal setting, next steps, and improvement plans.

This makes your service more impactful, and clients are more likely to see the tangible benefits of your expertise.

Why 360 Degree Assessments Are a Game-Changer

360-degree assessments are more than just a feedback tool—they are a way to grow your business:

  • Enhance client relationships: Provide comprehensive, data-backed insights.

  • Attract paying clients: A structured 360 assessment service adds value to your offerings.

  • Complement self-assessments: Combine self-reflection with external feedback for a full-picture evaluation.
